Kim Chiu Talks About Her ‘My Binondo Girl’ Leading Men

As the lead star in the hottest new Kapamilya primetime series My Binondo Girl, Kim Chiu admitted she is happy with the way her career is going at the moment. Aside from that, she also admitted she does not mind being paired up with three new leading men Jolo Revilla, Xian Lim and Matteo Guidicelli in the show. Kim said she has no problem being paired up with newcomers in future projects. “Bakit naman hindi? Artista rin naman sila and nasa larangan din naman siya ng pag-arte, bakit naman hindi,” she said.

Out of all her My Binondo Girl leading men, Kim revealed that she is closest to fellow Star Magic artist Matteo Guidicelli. “Lumalabas-labas kami nila Matteo and magkakilala na naman kami dati. Lagi kaming lumalabas labas kapag wala kaming work. Magkakabarkada kami. Magkasama kami siyempre nila Maja (Salvador) and Matteo, lokohan, biruan, chikahan, ganun,” she shared.

Kim admitted that because they speak the same dialect, it was easy for her to relate to the Fil-Italian heartthrob. “Bisaya siya and sobrang funny niya. Madaldal and kahit ‘di mo siya kibuin magsasalita siya, yun yung okay sa kanya kasi siya yung nagpapagising pagka-madaling araw. Bisaya kasi kami kaya parang lagi siyang nagtatanong sa akin ng, ‘Okay ba yung ayos ko? Okay na ba itong makeup ko?’ mga ganyan pero in Bisaya. Sinasabi ko okay naman. Basta may biruan kami. Magaan rin ang loob ko sa kanya kasi parang ang tagal na naming nagkakasama and matagal na rin kaming magkakilala,” she said. But Kim shared that she and Matteo have yet to ask each other for any advice regarding their personal lives. “Hindi, wala. Katuwaan lang yung sa amin ni Matteo. Walang mga love advice. Biruan lang talaga.”

The 21-year-old actress also had a lot of good things to say about her other co-stars Xian and Jolo. “Actually hindi ko narraamdaman yung ilangan factor namin sa set. Parang matagal ko na rin silang kasama and kakilala kasi hindi na rin sila nahihiya eh. Parang buddy buddy. Sabi nga ni Jolo, one of the boys ako kasi nakikisali ako sa mga kuwentahin nila at chikahan nila kahit na mga panlalaki pinagkukuwentuhan nila. So masaya kami sa set. Si Jolo mabait lang talaga siya and galante, yun lang talaga. Galante siya, laging nag-aalok ng pagkain. Si Xian talented siya, ang dami niyang tinuturo habang nasa tent kami. Ang daming tinuturong mga instruments. May mga dala siya. Silang tatlo sobrang bait, sobrang suwerte ko na sila yung nakasama ko kasi hindi sila mahirap katrabaho and ang gaan gaan nilang katrabaho sa set and open sila na mag-share ako ng konting tulong sa eksena. Open naman sila sa mga ganung bagay kaya okay naman. Kakakilala ko lang din sa kanila,” she said.

Kim admitted that she has been enjoying downtime on the set with Xian. “Techie kasi siya eh so ang dami niyang tinuturo sa akin gaya nung kung paano maglagay ng mga music sa phone ko and sa mga kain. Kain tayong ganito, kain lang kami ng kain kapag kasama ko siya kasi ewan ko, mahilig ba siya kumain or mabilis lang siya magutom. Ewan ko sa kanya (laughs). Shini-share niya sa akin minsan kapag may magandang comments kasi addict siya sa Twitter. So nagtatagal kami sa cellphone niya, nagtitingin tingin kami ng mga comments, ang saya,” she said.

Laureen Uy Enjoys Learning the Ropes of Showbiz

After making her television debut on ABS-CBN's primetime series "My Binondo Girl," Laureen Uy said she is fortunate to be learning the ropes of show business from some of the most established names in the industry.



The younger sister of celebrity stylist Liz Uy said she already had the chance to work alongside veteran actress Cherry Pie Picache and the series' lead star, Kim Chiu.



“Actually madami akong natututunan. 'Yung first scene ko kasi was with Ms. Cherry Pie so natutulungan niya talaga ako kung saan ako titingin at kung ano 'yung anggulo at emotion na dapat nasa mukha," Uy said in an interview with Push.com.ph.



"Ang dami kong natututunan sa mga stars dito. I'm enjoying the learning, learning, learning."



She then said in jest, "Tapos si Kim, actually nga minsan natatakot ako kasi ang gwapo 'pag lalaki. Tuwing magkasama kami lalaki siya. Hindi na ako tumitingin baka ma-in love pa ako. Ha ha ha."



Although still a neophyte, Uy said she did not have a hard time adjusting because of the support of her friends and loved ones.



"They're actually all very supportive. Nagulat nga sila eh. Kasi hindi ko sinasabi na nagwo-workshop ako at nasa 'My Binondo Girl' ako. So parang nagulat na lang sila one day nakita nila 'yung trailer at kasama daw pala ako," she said.



Uy admitted, however, that she has yet to learn how to deal with the demanding work schedule.



"The hardest adjustment would be I guess 'yung oras kasi since I have a blog and a business, ang dami ko rin usually na ginagawa na ibang stuff. Pero sa taping kasi, parang ang saya lang so nawawala 'yung pagod ko kahit hindi na ako natutulog," she said.



"Tapos 'yung makilala silang lahat kasi big stars na sila, lagi akong nahihiya. Pero sobra talaga nilang bait at lagi nila akong kinakausap, lagi nila akong sinasabihan na 'o ganito sa camera kailangan ngumiti ka, kailangan maganda ka.' So 'yun, nagtutulungan din lahat."

Erich Gonzales Hospitalized Due to Low Sugar Level

Napag-alaman mula sa doktor na tumingin sa kanya na lubhang bumaba ang kanyang sugar level (40) kung kaya nanghina ito at halos hindi na naipagpatuloy ang kanyang trabaho. Madali namang nahimasmasan ang aktres, agad naibalik sa normal ang kanyang sugar level pero pinagpayuhang magpahinga muna bago niya balikan ang kanyang trabaho.



Naintindihan naman ng mga kasamahan niya at maging ng direktor ang kalagayan ng young actress kaya itineyp muna ay ’yung mga eksena kung saan ay hindi siya kasama.

Laureen Uy on My Binondo Girl

A younger sister of celebrity stylist Liz Uy is on her way to making her own name in show business.



Laureen Uy, 21, has earned her acting debut as a part of the cast of the new television series “My Binondo Girl,” which stars Kim Chiu.



Coming from a family exposed to the entertainment industry, Laureen confessed that she has long aspired to make it big in show business.



“Actually, when I was young, I really wanted to enter showbiz, but coming from a half-Chinese family, they wanted me to study first and graduate,” she told Push.com.ph.



Given this long-time dream, she was very thankful for the opportunity given to her to be a part of the new television series.



She said, “Siyempre napakasaya ko. Parang in my head naisip ko na, ‘Sigurado ba kayo na gusto niyo na ito ibigay sa akin knowing na lahat ng kasama ko is big actors like Kim Chiu, Ai-Ai De las Alas, Cherry Pie Picache, and Gina Pareño?’ Sobra akong privileged, and for me, I consider this to really be a big opportunity to show my skills, to learn more and para makatrabaho ko sila lahat, parang dream na yun para sa akin na nandito na ako ngayon.”



With her sister Liz often being in the limelight, Laureen claimed that it wasn’t really hard for her to get her parents' permission to pursue her dream to be an actress.



“Since growing up yung Ate ko at Kuya ko nasa magazine industry na, so medyo naging open na yung eyes ng dad ko with the media industry, so nung pumasok ako sa showbiz hindi na sila masyado nahirapan. Parang supportive naman sila all the way,” she said.



In “My Binondo Girl,” Laureen plays the role of Amethyst, the half-sister of Chiu’s character Jade Dimaguiba.



Laureen claimed that she didn’t find it hard to play her part because she can relate to her character.



She explained, “She’s actually very close kasi to how I am in real life. She’s a girl aspiring to be a fashion designer and mahilig siyang magdamit. Bata pa tapos mahilig matuto ng mga bagong stuff, so parang ako din yun in real life."



“I have a blog and I own a clothing business so hindi ako masyado nahihirapan and the same time, natututo ako kasi siyempre yung mga emotion na pinapakita, iyak, tawa, galit, lahat nandun.”

Albie Casino Might Lose Role in Upcoming Teleserye

Albie Casino had a series of bad luck with regards to his showbiz career since the news about Andi Eigenmann’s pregnancy came out.



Albie, who’s been known for his role as Christian in the top-rating “Mara Clara” series, was supposed to star alongside Mara Clara themseleves–Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes–in the movie “Way Back Home” but he was replaced by Enrique Gil.



And now, Albie is being replaced again. This time by his bestfriend Daniel Padilla in the upcoming youth-oriented program “Growing Up” which is supposed to co-star him once again with Kathryn and Julia and other Mara Clara cast-members like Diego Loyzaga and Kiray Celis.



In an interview by PEP, Albie shared that he’s sad because of the unpleasant changes in his career. But more than losing the projects, he misses being with his friends.



“Hindi ko alam paano ko mae-explain. Of course, I felt sad kasi ang tagal ng Mara Clara. I bonded na with Kathryn, Julia and Diego Loyzaga. Kahit may ibang show na sila and ako rin, I’m still sad kasi yung bond na na-develop ko with them, wala ngayon. I miss them,” the controversial young actor said.



Albie Casino has one more project left with ABS-CBN and it’s the soap opera “Problem Child” where he is slated to work with Andi Eigenmann‘s aunt Cherrie Gil. Albie will also co-star with Yen Santos and Martin del Rosario for the TV adaptation of the classic film but there’s another problem that looms the young actor’s career.



Despite that fact that Albie has reportedly participated in the pictorial for “Problem Child,” rumor has it that he is going to be replaced by the new Kapamilya actor Paulo Avelino.



But of course, Albie will not give up easily without a fight. That’s why he’s working out daily to get buff because the role in “Problem Child” has some daring scenes that requires the male lead to be shirtless. And speaking of shirtless, the name Paulo Avelino will come to mind, right?

Kim Chiu Rules Primetime on My Binondo Girl

Kim Chiu remains to be the country's primetime princess as her newest teleserye "My Binondo Girl" instantly scored a national TV rating of 29.6% during its premiere telecast last Monday (Aug 22) beating GMA's "Munting Heredera" which rated only 22.3%, according to data from Kantar Media.



Even before “My Binondo Girl” started airing on TV, it had trended on Twitter the week before its airing along with ABS-CBN’s other series “Maria La del Bario” and the recently concluded “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin.”



The whole nation is starting to be captivated by the Jade-Onyx tandem who was portrayed as kids by Mutya Orquia and Izzy Canillo as young Onyx to Kim Chiu and newest leading man, Jolo Revilla whose chemistry is simply astounding.

Gretchen Barretto Denies Causing the Delay of Upcoming Teleserye

Actress Gretchen Barretto denied reports she is interfering with the creative team of her upcoming TV series with actresses Angelica Panganiban and KC Concepcion, which has caused unnecessary delays.



In an interview with “Showbiz News Ngayon” on Monday, Barretto stressed she is just patiently waiting for their project to materialize since she is aware a lot of preparations has to be made.



Barretto said she has been waiting for the production team to inform her about the schedule of their taping.



“I get into it just a little bit dahil siyempre alam naman natin na mga genius ang ating mga creative team. So hinahayaan ko sila,” she said.



“I’m patiently waiting dahil alam ko naman na bago mag-umpisa ang isang teleseryeng malaking proyekto, you always have to wait because you know that the preparation has to be really really careful,” she added.



Meanwhile, Barretto admitted the creative team had a little problem because of the story’s complexity.



“Nagkaproblema lang sa creative team, nagkaproblema lang sa script dahil talagang napakahirap gumawa ng script para sa tatlong babae. Pero once we star dirediretso na iyan,” she said.



Barretto’s last TV series with ABS-CBN is “Magkaribal,” where she played the role of actress Bea Alonzo’s sister.



Barretto renewed her contract with ABS-CBN last May.

100 Days to Heaven Continues to Give Inspiration and Hope to Filipinos

Richard Yap on My Binondo Girl

After the successful premiere broadcast of My Binondo Girl last Monday, August 22, viewers got to see the acting debut of Fil-Chi commercial model Richard Yap who plays Chen Sy, Kim Chiu’s father in the series. Richard, is also from Cebu and speaks fluent Visayan, which is another reason why he and Kim get along well on and off the set. Before joining the cast of My Binondo Girl, Richard had appeared mostly in commercials of a popular Chinese fast food franchise and a telephone company since 2003.



The 44-year-old father of two admitted that the thought of showbiz had never entered his mind until he was invited to come in for an audition for My Binondo Girl. “Actually I never thought about it. Parang ngayon lang kasi an opportunity came along pero never before na nag-isip ako na papasok ako dito,” he admitted.



Richard said even on their first working day, working with veteran actors like Ai-Ai De las Alas and Cherry Pie Picache put some pressure on him to deliver his lines well. “Medyo pressured ako a little kasi I know I’m working with very good actresses and actors in this story. Pero lahat sila very supportive. Especially si Direk Malu Sevilla at Direk Francis Pasion, they’ve been teaching me along the way and it’s been getting a little bit easier every day with all their guidance,” he shared with Push.com.ph.



Richard said that he enjoys playing the role of Kim’s father because the My Binondo Girl star is very easy to get along with and is a good actress. “Kim is a very nice person, very down-to-earth. Mabait talaga siya and mabilis kami nagkasundo talaga kasi we’re both from Cebu and we’re both Chinese. She’s very easy to get along with, mabait talaga na tao,” he stressed.



Richard explained that his character is not exactly as cold-hearted and stiff as he may initially appear at the start of the series. “My character Chen Sy is more of a stern person who’s that way because of his culture. Pero hindi naman siya kontrabida in a sense, kasi he’s just playing his part as the strict Chinese dad. Medyo mahirap din siya gawin pero sila Direk Malu guide me naman sa mga gagawin ko, na dapat ito yung nafi-feel ko sa scene na yun, so I have to really get into the part.”



Richard also gets help from Cherry Pie Picache, who plays his scheming wife in the drama-comedy series. “Siyempre in real life, the characters we play are very different from our real personalities. Si Ms. Pie naman, she’s also very supportive. Mabait siya, makuwento siya and she helps me out talaga with my scenes. Pag meron akong hindi masyado alam, sasabihin niya, ‘O eto dapat gawin mo,’ so tinuturuan din niya ako,” he said.



Even before joining My Binondo Girl, Richard was already a fan of the Kapamilya network and has watched series like Tayong Dalawa and various koreanovelas. He is also thankful that he has not had to let go of his regular job at a marketing company in Cebu. “Hindi ko pa naman kailangan mag-leave kasi hindi naman everyday yung shoot,” he shared with Push.com.ph.



Richard said his family has been very supportive about his acting debut, including his two kids, aged 8 and 15. “Actually before I started this I asked them na kinukuha ako for this part at kung okay lang ba sa kanila? They were very supportive. They wanted me to do it actually,” he said. Richard also shared that viewers can expect the storyline of My Binondo Girl to get even more exciting the longer that it airs. “Kasi the story is still unfolding as of now but in the first few days pa lang, there’s a lot excitement already because there’s a lot of changes within the story. So viewers can expect it to be very exciting tapos very heartwarming story also,” he concluded.

Kim Chiu on Working With Matteo Guidicelli

While it’s typical of onscreen couples to be romantically linked to each other, Kim Chiu said that Maja Salvador has nothing to worry about when it comes to her team-up with the latter’s rumored suitor, Matteo Guidicelli. Kim further shared that Maja knows that Matteo is in good hands, especially when some of the cast of My Binondo Girl went to Hong Kong for a shoot. “Alam naman ni Maja na may taping kami sa Hong Kong para sa show at kasama si Matteo. Kasi kung hindi siya payagan ni Maja, hindi siya sasama, e ’di wala siyang project? Para naman po sa trabaho yun. And masaya naman si Maja dahil nandudun ako, ayun, may bantay si Matteo,” Kim joked.



Of all her leading men, the pretty actress admitted that she’s closest to Matteo since they both grew up in Cebu. Kim also had the chance to go out with Matteo together with Maja and other common friends. “Oo, sa tatlong boys (including Xian Lim and Jolo Revilla), si Matteo yung talagang nakakausap ko kasi madaldal siya eh, lalo na kapag nagbi-Bisaya siya. Kapag pareho na kaming nagbi-Bisaya, yung mga tao sa paligid namin sasabihin, ‘Ayan, nag-iintsik na naman kayo.’ Pwede naming maloko-loko yung ibang tao. Funny guy kasi si Matteo and mataas lagi ang energy sa set.”



Although she’s often linked to her male co-stars, Kim has been consistent in saying that she has no plans to pursue a romantic relationship at this point in her life. “Oo, sa ngayon mas okay na wala munang romantic feelings na involved sa kasama mo sa trabaho. Hindi ko pinaplano dyowain isa man sa kanila. Mas masaya kami sa set. Hindi pa kami ganon ka-close, pero siguro habang tumatagal mas magiging maganda at strong yung bonding naming tatlo. Trabaho muna, para mas maganda magawa namin para sa show.”



In the meantime, Kim happily shared some of her experiences during their trip to Hong Kong. “Kasama ko dun si Matteo at Xian. Si Xian mabait naman siya. Kapag kumukuha siya ng food, kinukuhanan din niya ako. Sabi pa niya sa akin, ‘O, wala yung PA mo dito, ako na lang muna ang PA mo ha?’ Na-appreciate ko naman yun, kahit simpleng pag-abot ng tubig. Tapos si Matteo naman, yun nga, close na talaga kami kaya enjoy naman yung taping namin dun. Tsaka nakakatuwa lang kasi sinubukan kong magpa-cute sa mga girls dun. Akala talaga nila lalaki ako. Konti lang naman yung eksenang kinunan dun. Mga week 2 siguro yun lalabas, so abangang na lang ng viewers,” she added.

Gina Pareno on Working Again With Kim Chiu

Known for playing unforgettable roles in numerous projects after having been in the industry for the past 40 years, Gina Pareno once again plays another colorful character as Amor Dimaguiba, grandmother of Kim Chiu in the upcoming drama-comedy series My Binondo Girl.



The 61-year-old veteran actress admitted that it was such a joy to work with the My Binondo Girl cast, which also includes Ai-Ai De las Alas, Cherry Pie Picache, Ricardo Cepeda, and Glydel Mercado. “Magugustuhan nila panuorin ito. They can expect na ito yung comedy na wala masyadong iyakan. Pero may kurot din. Makikita rin ng ating mga manunuod na mararamdaman nila na masaya kami sa set. Na talagang maganda yung samahan namin. Kasi naniniwala ako na pagka-magkakasama kayo sa teleserye, pagka-good vibes, makikita ng mga tao yun. At magugustuhan nila yung show kasi eto yung tunay na pangyayari sa buhay at madali ka makaka-relate,” she shares with Push.com.ph.



With her role as the hardworking Amor, Gina is a dressed-down lola who will do anything to earn a living to support her family. “Madami kasi akong eksena na magaganda eh. Nakakatuwa. Para akong bumalik sa pagkabata ko kasi nakasombrero ako, namamasada ako ng jeep tapos parang tomboy ako na hindi naman ako tomboy kundi siguro sa hirap ng buhay parang pakiramdam ko trabaho lang ng trabaho at pasada, tumutulong sa pamilya, masarap. Hindi naman minsan yung iyakan ng iyakan, pero meron din scene na may kurot pero hindi sobrang mabigat. Sumusuporta ako sa pamilya ko. Maski na anong mangyari. Eto yung role na hindi ka maiilang na lola, basta para kaming mga barkada. Sobrang suporta ko sa pamilya ko, mahal na mahal ko sila. Maski mag-drive ako ng jeep sa Binondo para makatulong sa buhay naming gagawin ko. Ang ganda ng role,” she said to Push.com.ph.



Gina said she does not mind being deglamorized if the role calls for it. “Hindi problema sa akin yun kasi lahat ng ginagampanan kong role mahal ko. Kasi I really work hard for it. Bawat dating ko na trabaho, tutok naman ako. Sobrang mahal ko trabaho ko,” she said.



Gina also had nothing but praises for Kim Chiu, whom she had already previously worked with in successful television shows like Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo and Tayong Dalawa. “Sobrang galing na nung anak kong yan. At saka ganun pa rin siya kamukha nung dati, hindi lumaki ulo. Hindi niya iniisip na bankable star siya, na super mahal siya ng tao or sikat na sikat na siya. Wala siyang ganung pakita. Xian Lim on Leading Lady Kim Chiu

Xian Lim, one of Kim Chiu’s new leading men in the series My Binondo Girl, shares his Chinese-mestizo looks was plus points for him in landing the role of Andy Wu. “My dad's side is Chinese. They're very genuine, like they do the rituals. They do everything, the tradition and all. But I wasn't here to experience it. I was in the States,” he shared during the press conference for the upcoming show.



The 22-year-old basketball player-turned-model-turned-actor spent many years living in the US but he still speaks fluent Tagalog because he lived in the Philippines when he was a child. Xian revealed that at that time, he recalled his father discussing with him about this girl that the family wants him to marry when he reaches the right age. Arranged marriage is a popular custom among Chinese families that been continuing since ancient history.



Xian shared, “Sinabi sa akin na meron daw silang irereto. Nagpaparinig sila, and I know naman na hinihiritan na ako. I heard my dad na sinabi na, 'Papa-arrange marriage ka. May ipapakilala kami sa iyo. Chinese din.’ Mga ganun. I guess they were trying to keep it Chinese.”



At that time Xian didn’t like the idea, and luckily he was brought to the US, and the plan was never pursued. Though family is very important, he said he still values freedom and personal happiness. “I'm the type of person na hindi ko talaga kayang gawin ‘yung hindi ko gusto. Gusto ko palagi one hundred percent, puso ang susundin ko.”



Xian also talked about re-learning Chinese traditions in preparation for his role in My Binondo Girl, primarily how to speak fluent Mandarin. “Na-expose na ako sa Chinese culture nung maliit pa ako. But now, it's more of refreshing than what I experienced before. I do need to study it more kasi hindi ko talaga siya one hundred percent alam. I took up some Mandarin lessons para malaman lang yung mga intonations kasi I know for this role kailangan talaga.”



Xian’s first acting project in 2008 was with Kim in Your Song presents My Only Hope, and since then the two have become good friends. “We got to know each other very well. Nakita ko talaga yung mga good traits niya. Ang gustong gusto ko talaga kay Kim is she smiles everytime. Iisipin mo wala siyang problema. Kapag ikaw ang may problema, parang mawawala ‘yung kapag nakakwentuhan mo si Kim.”

Kris Aquino Delighted Over Ai-Ai delas Alas' New TV Project

TV host-actress Kris Aquino couldn’t be more ecstatic to see the performance of her “Friendship” Ai Ai delas Alas in ABS-CBN’s new primetime series, “My Binondo Girl.”



In her interview aired on “The Buzz” last Aug. 21, the Queen of All Media enthused directly to Ai Ai, “alam ko talaga kung gaano mo ito pinaghirapan, pinagpaguran.”



She further related that those who’ve seen previews of “My Binondo Girl” were in awe of Ai Ai’s performance.



“Bow lahat sa performance na ginawa mo kasi nga ikaw lang daw ang nakakagawa ng umiiyak natatawa, ume-emote nagpapa-comedy, all in one. 'Yung parang [ito] ‘yung performance of a lifetime ni Ai Ai so I'm excited for 'My Binondo Girl.' Congratulations in advance,” said Kris.



Prior to “My Binondo Girl,” the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) best actress also had a special appearance in the Erich Gonzales starrer, “Maria La Del Barrio.”



Kris and Ai Ai have maintained a strong friendship through the years despite it having been tested at one point. Recall that Ai Ai and Kris’ estranged husband, James Yap, had a falling out back in 2007 at the height of the controversy involving him and Hope Centeno.



The star cager got offended after the ace comedienne remarked in jest that Kris should return James to his mother. Ai Ai had since apologized to James, but it was only last year at James and Kris’ joint birthday celebration that they finally made peace.



Kris and Ai Ai ironed things out sooner—in 2009—after the latter greeted the former on TV. Ai Ai was, at that time, in the hospital because of gastritis and kidney infection.



The two eventually clarified in separate interviews that there was never any problem between them.

Mutya Orquia Becomes Twitter Trending Topic

Child star Mutya Orquia landed on the top trending local topics of microblogging site Twitter on Tuesday, as she won praises for her performance in ABS-CBN's newest television series "My Binondo Girl."



In the show that premiered on Monday night, the 5-year-old played the role of young Jade. The character would later grow up to be Kim Chiu.



Netizens praised Mutya's outstanding performance in the show.



"Ganda ng 1st body ng #MyBinondoGirl, no? Husay nina Ai Ai, Gina and Mutya," Janis Ramos said.



"Wow! Mutya is trending pala. She's so cute in My Binondo Girl! :))," Jan Yvone said.

Amy Austria Commends "Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin" Co-Stars

Veteran actress Amy Austria has commended her younger co-stars in the recently concluded drama series "Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin".



In an interview with Push.com.ph, Austria was full of praises for Coco Martin, Maja Salvador and Andi Eigenmann.



She said, "Talented sila, at the same time, mahal nila ang trabaho nila. Wala silang mga superstar attitude."



Confident on the promise shown by the younger stars, she added that they can make it in the industry by learning from their own experiences.



"When it comes to acting 'di na kailangan [ang advice] magaling na 'yan. Tumatanda 'yan mas lalalim ang mga 'yan," she said.



Now that Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin has come to its end, Austria admitted she felt mixed emotions.



She stressed, "Masaya [ako] in the sense na makakapagpahinga na, makakapag-relax na, at the same time nakakalungkot din kasi kahit hindi magkakahiwalay-hiwalay ang cast at staff. Iba yung may dahilan kayo para magkita-kita, hindi lang basta trabaho kundi talagang makakapag-bonding kayo."



Austria said that she truly enjoyed doing the teleserye and that it was worth all the troubles of making a comeback after years away from the limelight.



The actress said she now plans to rest and spend more time with her family.



She said that she and her husband are planning to go to New Zealand to visit her daughter.

Eula Valdez Rates the Acting Know-How of Lauren Young, JM de Guzman and Enrique Gil

Things may not have started on a good note when Eula Valdez did Mula Sa Puso because of a controversy involving her manager and co-star DJ Durano. But now that the show has ended, the talented actress shared that she misses working with the whole cast especially with her good friends Ariel Rivera and Dawn Zulueta. “Yung set kasi ni direk Wenn kailanganna nagbo-bonding lahat, parang pamilya talaga para magaan ang trabaho. Alam ko ang rason niya dun, mahirap na nga yung trabaho mo, mabigat pa sa set. ‘Di ba nakakainis, feeling mo para kang bata na tamad pumasok. Pero dito looking forward ka lagi mag-taping. Kapag may nagkakasakit, ite-text mo agad kasi hindi ka sanay na wala sila.”



Eula was also happy that she was able to reprise the role of Selena (originally played by Princess Punzalan) with much success. “Ang swerte ko na nung una lang nagkaroon ng comparison kasi mas tumatak si Princess noon at nag-uumpisa pa lang ipalabas yung remake. Pero later on masaya ako dahil wala naman akong nababasa na naku-compare kaming dalawa. Yung feedback ng tao, more on naiinis sila kay Selina dahil sobrang sama pero natatawa din sa pagkaloka-loka niya. Mami-miss ko nga yung mga linya niya kasi hindi ko naman sinasabi yun sa totoong buhay. Nakakapaglaro ako kahit papaano.”



When asked about the younger members of the cast of Mula Sa Puso, Eula commented on how much Lauren Young, JM de Guzman and Enrique Gil have improved in terms of their acting skills. “Si Lauren very promising. Sabi nga ni direk Wenn aalagaan daw niya. Nakikita daw niya may pagka Hilda Koronel si Lauren. May nakukuha ka sa kanya sa eksena at minsan nagiging meron pa nga ako sa eksena. Si JM, magaling din at may lalim siya, pero minsan tinatamad, yun ang problema. Pero bata pa kasi, kapag pagod, tinatamad. So kailangan gisingin. Si Enriquue naman consistent siya sa role niya. Sana mapanood ko siya sa ibang show para makita ko siya na iba ang character, pero ok din siya.”



What’s next for Eula after Mula Sa Puso? “Isang taon ang contract ko sa ABS-CBN and nakalagay dun two shows ang gagawin ko. So definitely meron akong next project pero ‘di ko alam kung saan ako ipapasok. One time dumalaw si direk Lauren (Dyogi) sa set namin. Tapos tinanong ako kung ano ba gusto kong gawin sa susunod kong project, may preferred role raw ba ako. Sabi ko kahit ano basta hindi ko pa nagagawa para maiba naman.”

Meet the New Leading Men of Kim Chiu on My Binondo Girl

Matteo Guidecelli, Xian Lim, and Jolo Revilla will be paired up with Primetime Princess, Kim Chiu in the new ABS-CBN series, “My Binondo Girl.”



The three promising actors are ready to step up their acting prowess in this new series and are also making their primetime comeback after “Agua Bendita,” “Katorse,” and “Noah.” They will be giving life to the characters of Onyx (Jolo Revilla), who is Jade’s childhood friend, and best friend Andy Wu (Xian Lim), who is Yuan’s rival in managing ChenJean restaurant, and Trevor Wu (Matteo Gudecelli), the second son of Edison Wu (Ricardo Cepedea) who is always being compared to his brother, Andy.

Xian Lim Eats the Food Brought by Jolo Revilla for Kim Chiu

Mismong si Kim Chiu ang nagsabing napaka-galante ng isa sa tatlong leading man niya sa My Binondo Girl na si Jolo Revilla. Palagi raw itong nagdadala ng makakain nila sa set ng kanilang serye. Nang malaman daw nito na paborito niya ang siomai, na ito lamang ang kinakain niya sa uma­ga, tanghali, at gabi ay dinalhan siya nito sa set. Pero hindi lamang para sa kanya ang dala kundi sa lahat ng katrabaho nila. Ang dalawa pang leading man niya na sina Xian Lim at Matteo Giudicelli, at maski na sina Gina Pareno at Cherry Pie Picache ay nakikikain pa sa siomai niya.



“Ang takaw-takaw nga ni Xian, palagi na lang nanghihingi ng siomai ko,” sabi ng primetime princess ng ABS-CBN na binabalikan ang paggawa ng serye.



Pero kung si Jolo ay sa pagkain kinukuha ang loob niya, si Xian ay tinuturuan siyang tumugtog ng mga musical instrument tuwing break nila. Sa kabila ng effort ng dalawa na makagaanan niya ng loob, inamin ni Kim na closest siya sa Fil-Italian na si Matteo na kapwa niya Bisaya kaya madali silang nagkaintindihan. Ilang beses na rin silang lumabas hindi para mag-date kundi para mag-bonding.



Natawa si Kim nang may magtanong sa kanya kung nagpaalam ba siya kay Maja Salvador para makapareha si Matteo.



“Hindi, bakit naman ako magpapaalam sa kanya hindi naman ako ang kumuha kay Matteo kundi ang produksiyon. I’m sure sinasabi ni Matteo kay Maja kung ano ang mga ginagawa niya kaya aware ito na magkasama kami sa My Binondo Girl,” paliwanag ni Kim.



Palabas na ang My Binondo Girl sa August 22 sa Primetime Bida ng ABS CBN, Lunes hanggang Biyernes sa oras ng Guns and Roses.
