Life goes on for actress Maja Salvador after the controversial brawl between Coco Martin and Matteo Guidicelli.

Martin is Salvador's co-star in defunct ABS-CBN television series "Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin." Guidicelli, on the other hand, is the actress' real-life boyfriend.

To show that everything is alright, Salvador appeared on "Showtime" to promote her film, "Thelma," and to be a guest judge.

The actress even joked when Ryan Bang, her co-judge on the show, stared at her.

"Gusto mo bang may sumapak sa iyo?" she told Bang.

"Ay kinakabahan ako pero hello, madlang people. Sa wakas, nakapag-guest ako rito bilang hurado. Pero ang hirap bilang si Vice Ganda ang pinalitan ko dito," she added, referring to the show's resident judge, actor-comedian Vice Ganda.

Salvador turned emotional on Sunday as she admitted that she was the reason why Guidicelli and Martin got into a brawl after the Star Magic Ball, which was held the previous day.

The actress also admitted for the first time that she and Guidicelli are in a relationship.

According to a source of ABS-CBN celebrity talk show "The Buzz," Guidicelli and Martin got into a fistfight after the latter allegedly kissed Salvador on the lips during the Star Magic Ball after party on Saturday night.

Salvador, however, denied that Martin kissed her.

The Star Magic management, in a statement, said that everything has already been patched up between the two actors.

On Monday, Guidicelli apologized for the incident, which he called "a very unnecessary matter."

Matteo Guidicelli Didn't Show Up in Maja Salvador's Movie Premiere

Actor Matteo Guidicelli failed to show up at the red carpet premiere of “Thelma” on Sunday.

He did not say why. This comes on the heels of revelations from Maja Salvador, the movie's lead actress, that he and actor Coco Martin had a fistfight on Saturday night.

“All I have to say is congratulations, unang-una sa movie. I’m very very proud of you. I’m always here for you. Maraming-maraming salamat sa lahat. You’re a blessing. You are a great person. Congratulations and we are all here for you to support you,” he said in the Monday episode of “Happy Yipee Yehey.”

On Sunday, Salvador admitted on “The Buzz” that she was the reason why Guidicelli and Martin had a fistfight after the Star Magic Ball.

Salvador said that after what happened, she is not sure anymore where their relationship is going.

According to a source of “The Buzz,” Guidicelli got irked when he learned that Martin kissed Salvador on the lips during an after party at Salon de Ning, a bar inside Peninsula Manila Hotel.

Meanwhile, the security of the posh hotel said no one who witnessed the brawl, including the hotel management, would give any statement.

Hotel Duty Manager Marie Mangalili also stated the management would not be releasing any video of the fight, if there is indeed one, supposedly caught on CCTV.

Maja Salvador Co-Produced Thelma

Just before filming wrapped up for “Thelma,” lead actress Maja Salvador accepted an offer from producer Rino Que to join them as co-producer.



Without as much as a second thought, the drama actress conceded and did not collect the rest of her talent fee for the film. It is Maja’s first time to become an industrial partner in a business venture, a move that stemmed from her faith and confidence in the project.



“Thelma” is an indie film produced by Time Horizon Pictures about a marathon runner who battles against the odds. To get into the athletic mode, Maja was trained in long-distance running by national athlete Elma Murros.



The training introduced Maja to running as a sport, and which she now uses as a measure to keep fit and lose weight.



There were a lot of sacrifices made in the making of the movie. Maja endured bruises in her feet and legs as she ran on rugged country roads, oftentimes bare-footed as she played a poor peasant’s daughter in the picture.



While fast-track running is her thing in the film, the same can’t be said of Maja’s attitude towards her acting career. “I’m not in a hurry, ako yung artista na hindi nagmamadali,” she told media during the film’s launch at the ABS-CBN’s 9501 Executive Lounge recently.



The actress said she loved her profession too much she will not want to rush in a bid to become a very big star. It’s not among her wishes, she explained.



Maja has just finished a high-rating teleserye, “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin,” which sealed her partnership with Coco Martin. She’s embarking soon on an international promotional tour for “Minsan” but hoping to make a stop in Hawaii in October for the screening of “Thelma” at an international film festival in the island.



“Thelma,” described by its director, Paul Soriano, as an inspiring film, also stars Jason Abalos, Tetchie Agbayani, John Arcilla, among others. It has won the nod of Star Cinema, which has agreed to distribute the film starting on Sept. 7.

Maja Salvador Reveals She and Jason Abalos Almost Got Romantic

Maja Salvador considers Thelma as her biggest movie project in her eight years in showbiz. Playing the title character who is an aspiring sprinter, Maja expressed her gratitude to close friend Jason Abalos for accepting the supporting role in the movie as her love interest. “Sobrang thankful ako kasi ang Best Actor na si Jason e tinanggap itong movie na ito. Ganun yata talaga ang mga magkakaibigan, nagtutulungan.” Jason won a Gawad Urian trophy in 2008 for his performance in the independent film Endo.



Maja and Jason have worked in various projects in the past which include the movies My Kuya’s Wedding, First Day High, and the teleserye Nagsimula Sa Puso. In the course of doing those projects, the actress shared that she and Jason have grown to be very close friends. “Going strong ang friendship namin ni Jason. Feeling ko pang habang buhay ito. Lahat kaming magkakaibigan mahal namin ‘yung trabaho namin, nagtutulungan kami, pino-protektahan namin ang isa’t isa.”



She went on to reveal that there was a time when the two of them had special feelings for one another, but it didn’t blossom into anything serious. “Tapos na kami sa level na ‘yun. Siyempre dahil nagkaka-work kayo, madalas kayong magkasama, so nagkaka-text, mga ganun. Pero natagpuan namin ‘yung tamang landas na mas patok kami bilang friends lang.”



The movie Thelma also brought controversies to Maja after rumors circulated that she was having an affair with her director Paul Soriano who is known by many to be in a relationship with actress/TV host/singer Toni Gonzaga. Maja confessed being disappointed that all her hard work was overshadowed by such malicious intrigue. “Nalungkot talaga ako. Kahit sinong artista naman yata ayaw ma-link sa direktor niya. Sa mga project kasi madalas ma-link ang aktres sa leading man. E dahil wala si Jason sa press con, nabaling siguro kay Direk Paul.”



She begged the media and the public to focus their attention on Thelma in respect to her feelings and that of other stars in the industry. “Hindi porke artista kami e wala na kaming pakiramdam. Nasasaktan din kami, bumibigay din lalo na kapag natatapakan na ang pagkatao namin. Ginagawa lang namin nang mabuti ang trabaho namin at gusto sana namin ay mga positive write ups na lang ang lumabas. Pero nasagot na po namin ‘yun, so mag-focus na lang tayo sa movie. Actress Maja Salvador revealed she was the reason why actors Matteo Guidicelli and Coco Martin got into a brawl after the Star Magic Ball Saturday night.



“Opo. Lahat naman po alam na yun. Opo,” Salvador briefly said in an exclusive interview with “The Buzz” on Sunday.



She also admitted for the first time that she and Guidicelli are in a relationship. After what happened last night, however, Salvador said she is not sure anymore where their relationship is going.



“Opo Tito Boy [may relasyon kami ni Matteo]. Pero pagkatapos po nangg nangyari kagabi, hindi ko po alam kung saan pupunta,” she emotionally said.



According to a source of “The Buzz,” Guidicelli and Martin got into a fistfight after the latter allegedly kissed Salvador in the lips during an after party at Salon de Ning in Makati.



The source even added that Guidicelli has long been jealous of Martin since the latter was paired with Salvador in the television series “Misan Lang Kita Iibigin.”



Salvador, however, denied that Martin kissed her.



The actress said she would rather not talk about the incident in detail.



"Siguro po huwag po muna siguro ngayon. Sana po sa 'Thelma' na lang muna tayo mag-focus," Salvador pleaded.



Meanwhile, The Star Magic management said in a statement that everything has already been patched up between the 2 actors.



“What happened was just a simple misunderstanding. Both Coco and Matteo are sorry it happened. Everything has been resolved.”

Maja Salvador Makes Amends with Cousin Deborah Sun

"Thelma" star Maja Salvador has made amends with her cousin Deborah Sun.



In an interview with ABS-CBN's “E-Live” on Saturday, Salvador revealed that she already met with Sun and that they already talked things out.



“I’m very happy na nakilala ko na siya. Nakapag-lunch na kami together,” she said.



A few months ago, Sun lambasted Salvador for snubbing her.



Sun took Salvador’s action as a sign of disrespect, which made the former upset.



"Alam mo, ang sinasabi ko lang, kahit hindi ako, pero kung ahead sa iyo, senior sa iyo, kahit 'di mo kilala, bigyan mo ng respeto," Sun earlier said.

Thelma on Theaters This September 7

Time Horizon Pictures, in cooperation with Abracadabra Productions and Underground Logic proudly brings an indie film about a young runner’s determination to reach her goals and dreams. Kim Chiu on Working With Matteo Guidicelli

While it’s typical of onscreen couples to be romantically linked to each other, Kim Chiu said that Maja Salvador has nothing to worry about when it comes to her team-up with the latter’s rumored suitor, Matteo Guidicelli. Kim further shared that Maja knows that Matteo is in good hands, especially when some of the cast of My Binondo Girl went to Hong Kong for a shoot. “Alam naman ni Maja na may taping kami sa Hong Kong para sa show at kasama si Matteo. Kasi kung hindi siya payagan ni Maja, hindi siya sasama, e ’di wala siyang project? Para naman po sa trabaho yun. And masaya naman si Maja dahil nandudun ako, ayun, may bantay si Matteo,” Kim joked.



Of all her leading men, the pretty actress admitted that she’s closest to Matteo since they both grew up in Cebu. Kim also had the chance to go out with Matteo together with Maja and other common friends. “Oo, sa tatlong boys (including Xian Lim and Jolo Revilla), si Matteo yung talagang nakakausap ko kasi madaldal siya eh, lalo na kapag nagbi-Bisaya siya. Kapag pareho na kaming nagbi-Bisaya, yung mga tao sa paligid namin sasabihin, ‘Ayan, nag-iintsik na naman kayo.’ Pwede naming maloko-loko yung ibang tao. Funny guy kasi si Matteo and mataas lagi ang energy sa set.”



Although she’s often linked to her male co-stars, Kim has been consistent in saying that she has no plans to pursue a romantic relationship at this point in her life. “Oo, sa ngayon mas okay na wala munang romantic feelings na involved sa kasama mo sa trabaho. Hindi ko pinaplano dyowain isa man sa kanila. Mas masaya kami sa set. Hindi pa kami ganon ka-close, pero siguro habang tumatagal mas magiging maganda at strong yung bonding naming tatlo. Trabaho muna, para mas maganda magawa namin para sa show.”



In the meantime, Kim happily shared some of her experiences during their trip to Hong Kong. “Kasama ko dun si Matteo at Xian. Si Xian mabait naman siya. Kapag kumukuha siya ng food, kinukuhanan din niya ako. Sabi pa niya sa akin, ‘O, wala yung PA mo dito, ako na lang muna ang PA mo ha?’ Na-appreciate ko naman yun, kahit simpleng pag-abot ng tubig. Tapos si Matteo naman, yun nga, close na talaga kami kaya enjoy naman yung taping namin dun. Tsaka nakakatuwa lang kasi sinubukan kong magpa-cute sa mga girls dun. Akala talaga nila lalaki ako. Director Paul Soriano All Praises for Maja Salvador

“When I watch the film, it’s not Maja I see but the character she plays.”

This is how director Paul Soriano assesses the performance of “Thelma” lead star Maja Salvador, who was first choice for the part. He added that the 22-year old ABS-CBN talent was a pro through and through; the kind who insisted on working despite suffering setback.

“Since indie production kami, we only have limited time to shoot. Twice, namanhid yung legs ni Maja while we were shooting sa Ilocos last year. We made her run wearing slippers, minsan naka-paa, kasi hindi afford nung character n’ya mag-running shoes.

“Despite this, hindi tumigil si Maja. An hour after i-masahe ni Elma [Muros, track and field champion who served as the film’s consultants] ang legs niya, sabi ni Maja, ‘Ok na ulit, Direk. Let’s go!’” Soriano told Bulletin Entertainment and select members of media in an interview held July 28.

Maja’s leg cramps and muscle spasms got so severe at one point that Soriano had to rush her to the emergency room of a provincial hospital for treatment. The young actress was also reported to have collapsed from exhaustion after doing one of the scenes. In a previous interview, Soriano said that they shot 14 to 16 hours a day “with very little sleep.”

The director believes the role is meant for Maja. He said that upon meeting with the actress in order to discuss the project, he was surprised to learn that her mother’s name is Thelma and that they hail from Aparri that’s just a couple of hours away from Ilocos.

It also seemed to fit in the puzzle that Maja knows how to speak Ilocano. Even the 10-day shooting schedule that Soriano needed from Maja was miraculously granted with a rare lull in her calendar!

Soriano likes it that Maja is an intelligent actress. Though respectful towards Soriano, he said that she sometimes shared her thoughts to him on how to best portray her character. There were discussions and a lot of rebuttals but in the end, the movie remained paramount over differing opinions.

“People have always said of Maja, ‘She’s the next star.’ But, no, she is a star,” Soriano quipped.

Note that prior to “Thelma,” Maja has received offers to star in other indie films but all got turned down.

Some roles that Maja has played in the past include a girl with a third eye, a woman with cerebral palsy, and a doctor who gets haunted by demonic visions.

“Thelma” is Soriano’s second film after 2009’s “A Journey Home.” Both inspirational stories, this one is about a woman who discovers her gift of running and uses it to better her life and that of her family. In researching the movie, the director interviewed a lot of runners in order to come up with the best story.

Soriano also took his time in doing post-production chores. Shooting for “Thelma” was done by December yet he was still working on the film five months hence.

“I want it to be perfect as much as possible. Ang total time ng mga shots was two hours and now it’s down to an hour and 35 minutes. Talagang piling-pili and whenever I felt na hindi kailangan, tanggal. I don’t want to offer a slow-paced movie,” Soriano said.

While filming, the director said he made his actors follow certain rules such as no using of celphones on the set and no reviewing of performances.

“I also treated them according to the characters they play. Si Maja ang tingin ko, hindi artista, kundi runner talaga while we were shooting,” he said.

The movie, set to hit the big screen nationwide on Sept. 7, is in the vein of “Children of Heaven,” “Million Dollar Baby” and “Remember The Titans.” Soriano wrote “Thelma” with Froi Medina and Rino Que and it took them a year to finish the script.

The “Thelma” tagline goes, “Some people run away from their problems. She ran to fix them.”

Soriano said: “The message here is that it’s never too late to finish what you’ve started. Just because you’ve been through a lot is not an excuse for you to give up on your dreams of having a better life.

“And run towards your dreams. Don’t walk---run!”

“Thelma” is the maiden offering of Time Horizon Pictures, in cooperation with Abracadabra Productions and Underground Logic. The cast includes Tetchie Agbayani, John Arcilla, Eliza Pineda and Jason Abalos. The film will be distributed by Star Cinema.

Maja Salvador Excited for Upcoming Indie Film

Actress Maja Salvador is excited about her upcoming film "Thelma."

In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Salvador said the film is based on the life of Filipino athletes, in particular, runners.

"Ang role ko dito, isa akong runner na sobra ang pangarap niya para sa pamilya niya na ginawa niya ang lahat para matupad ito," said Salvador.

She clarified that the film is not the based on the true-to-life story of athlete Elma Muros. However, she said it was Muros who actually trained her.

"Itong Thelma kasi, bago nila isulat ito, nag-interview sila ng runners sila, hanggang sa nabuo, yung kwento ng ganitong runner, hindi yung kay Ms. Elma," she said.

For the film, Salvador said she had to do real training and exercises of a runner. As a result, she lost weight.

"Bale si Ms. Elma siya ang nag-train sa akin, kasama ko siyang mag-training...Talagang mahirap ang pinagawa niya sa akin habang nagte-training kami. Kung ano ang ginagawa ng runners, yun ang ginagawa namin. Six weeks kaming nag-training," she said.

"Thelma," produced by Time Horizon and distributed by Star Cinema, also stars Tetchie Agbayani, John Arcilla and Jason Abalos.

"Thelma" will hit theaters September 7.

Matteo Guidicelli and Maja Salvador Settle Their Differences

Young actor Matteo Guidicelli on Wednesday confirmed the issue that he and rumored girlfriend Maja Salvador got into a slight misunderstanding.

He explained, “All friends naman, sometimes you disagree on something. Like a normal friendship, naayos naman lahat.”

Meanwhile, in an interview with “Showbiz News Ngayon,” Guidicelli refused to verify the report saying that he actually picked up the “sweet Post-Its” scene from John Lloyd Cruz and Toni Gonzaga’s movie “My Amnesia Girl” to woo Salvador into forgiving him.

Deborah Sun Lambasts Maja Salvador

Veteran actress Deborah Sun lambasted her cousin, young actress Maja Salvador, for being disrespectful.

"Alam mo, ang sinasabi ko lang, kahit hindi ako, pero kung ahead sa iyo, senior sa iyo, kahit 'di mo kilala, bigyan mo ng respeto," Sun told reporters during a press conference for ABS-CBN's TV series "Reputasyon."

Sun was referring to incidents when Salvador snubbed her, such as what happened at the wake of the latter's father a long time ago.

When asked if she knows why Salvador acted that way, Sun replied: "Wala lang. Honestly speaking, plastik at fake siya."

As a cousin, Sun said she only wants Salvador to be respectful and just be true to herself.

"Ako, hindi ko sinasabing sikat ako or whatever. Ako, ito lang ang sasabihin ko: Ang daming binibigay sa kanya na magagandang project ng 2 (ABS-CBN). Ayaw tumuloy why? Nagagalit siguro si Lord dahil sa iyong A--capital A, iyong Attitude," Sun said.

"Alam mo, 'yong mga half sister niya nagkukuwento sa akin na ganito. Ang sabi niya, siya ay tumutulong sa pamilya niya. No, it's all kayabangan or whatever," Sun said.
