Martin Nievera to Hold Tribute Concert

Martin Nievera is set to hold a tribute concert in Resorts World Manila in Pasay City on Friday.

In an exclusive interview with radio dzMM's Ahwel Paz, the Concert King asked the public to join him at around 8 p.m. on September 2 for a night of music.

"[I will be having a] tribute concert [on] September 2 sa Resorts World. Marvin Querido and his big, big orchestra [will be joining me] as I pay tribute to all the people who have blessed me through the years," he told Paz during their recent gig at the 74th anniversary celebration of the Filipino Association of Singapore.

Nievera marked his 29th year in show business last month. He was supposed to hold an anniversary celebration in ABS-CBN musical variety show "ASAP Rocks" but it did not push through after he failed to show up.

Reports said singer-actress Sarah Geronimo had something to do with Nievera's absence. The Concert King stressed, however, that "it was never about Sarah."

After his tribute concert, Nievera will hold a show with singer Rachel Alejandro in Ireland on October 31.

"We are going together there in Ireland, please join us in Ireland on October 31st. I'll be there with Rachel Alejandro. To all the Filipinos in Ireland, see you," he said.
