The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition host admitted that she has no secret formula to show for her staying power in the industry. “It’s really a secret even to me. Because at this point in my career, after 34 years, I should be kind of losing interest, because my energy is not the same as when I was 25, but I’m just blessed with really high energy (laughs). It runs in my family. Right now, it’s all new. It’s like old new things. Parang at this time, after a few years of being overweight, and I have to remind everybody, I was thin for most of my life, it was after Miel that I gained. Parang it’s naninibago but it’s like a familiar thing that at the same time your trying to get used to. So it’s starting to feel like old times. And its because, truly naman when you hit your forties you still feel like your twenty-something, then you’re reminded lang. So it’s the same. I’m still doing the same things and I love my job. I think that’s the key to it all. You have faith in God, you have faith in your supporters, and you have just have to give them what’s due them. If they want you to look like a leading lady, siyempre ‘di ba? Why are you going to idolize someone who doesn’t, who to you is not aspirational?” she explained.
The actress said she is happy with her life right now. “I’m enjoying it. Kasi now I get to do what I want to do. It’s no longer like when I was in my twenties na you had to work hard to save, now I’m doing what I want to do because I love it period. I like the people I work with. I like everybody in ABS-CBN, I like everybody I bump into from showbiz interviews to the cameramen. I grew up here na eh. Old staff, they’re like family to me. So I’m excited to give them what they deserve. What they miss,” she stressed to Push.com.ph.
Sharon said it’s her loyal fans who have been one of her biggest inspirations for losing weight. The Megastar revealed she has lost more than 20 pounds already and is planning to continue shedding the weight. “I wanted my fans to be proud of me and then I kept telling the Biggest Loser contestants that I believed in them. A couple of them came up to me and said ‘I believe in you Miss Sharon,’ and I saw lahat ng kahihiyan tinanggal nila while marching up to the weighing scale. That was not easy to do. Hindi ako yung parang spectator lang kasi naiintindihan ko what they’re going through, how hard it must’ve been,” she added.
