Manila Hostage Crisis Remembered on Krusada

A year has passed since the hostage-taking incident at Quirino Grandstand in Manila took the lives of eight tourists from Hongkong.

The tragedy gave the Philippines a bad name as millions all over the world witnessed the unsuccessful operation carried out by the government and the police in order to rescue the hostages.

On its first anniversary, Henry-Omaga Diaz reexamines the events following the Manila bus siege this Thursday (August 25) in “Krusada.” He personally went to Hongkong to interview the victims and their families. Have they gained the justice they deserve?

Meanwhile, has the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) drafted guidelines for the media in covering hostage-taking crises such as this one? Diaz will also find out if government agencies such as the DILG issued resolutions when it comes to handling these sensitive cases.

Listen, take part and be one with Henry’s crusade because it takes more than words to make a stand. Watch “Krusada” this Thursday (August 25) after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN.
