Gary Valenciano Thrilled Over New Projects

Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano shared his excitement over his 2 new projects.

In line with his 28th anniversary in show business, Valenciano launched "With Love, Gary Valenciano," a compilation of all the teleserye and movie theme songs he recorded.

Included in the new album are songs "Where Do I Begin (Love Story)," "Minsan Lang Kitang Iibigin," "Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo," "Tayong Dalawa," Sana Maulit Muli," "And I Love You So," "Because of You," "Ikaw Lamang," "Kailangan Kita" and "How Did You Know."

Valenciano is also promoting his upcoming television special, which airs on Sunday (September 4) at 10:45 p.m. on ABS-CBN's Sunday's Best.

"Ako talagang nagpapasalamat ako sa ABS-CBN kasi after 28 years sino ang mag-aakala na mago-offer pa sila ng special, hindi naman ganoon ka-often ang specials ngayon, hindi ba? So, I'm really thankful that they've given me this chance," he told abs-cbnNEWS.com on Wednesday.

Inspired by his latest album, the TV special is also titled "With Love, Gary Valenciano." It is directed by Johnny "Mr. M" Manahan, with musical direction by Marvin Querido and choreography by Georcelle Dapat of G-Force.

"The last time I talked to Mr. M regarding something creative was my last concert with him which was in 1999, for 'Pure Energy.' So two Sundays ago, sa recording ng ASAP, he called and sabi niya, 'Gary sa opening natin baka pwedeng ganito, ganyan' tapos usap kami ulit like before," he said.

"It was so good to have this special and it's old school...I really don't know how it's all going to come out kasi ang dami nilang kinuhang artists and friends and special people in the industry to speak about their vision or image of who I am to them."

Paying tribute to Valenciano on the TV special are his fellow artists Ryan Cayabyab, Kuh Ledesma, Martin Nievera, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Lorna Tolentino, Ogie Alcasid, Iya Villania, Aiza Seguerra, Jed Madela and Piolo Pascual.

His children -- Gab, Paolo and Kiana -- will also be part of the show.
